Description Agriturismo Equitazione & Buona Tavola
The Country House “Equitazione & Buona Tavola” is situated in Umbria on a hill above Gubbio at a height of 700 metres. Open throughout the year, this fully refurbished cottage gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy a holiday in the quietness of the Umbrian hills and woods, contact with animals and complete relaxation. Traditional dishes of the Gubbio area, are cooked in the wood burning oven and home made delicacies are available, even honey. The fine cuisine is accompanied by excellent wines carefully selected: such as Nebbiolo and Trebbiano. The Country House also includes an important breeding and riding centre of Quarter Horses where even the first horse riding experience can be enjoyed.The Country House is an ideal meeting point between the beautiful nature offered by the suggestive Umbrian hillside where traditional agriculture is still practiced, and the artistic wealth of the numerous nearby towns such as Gubbio, Assisi, Trevi, Todi, Perugia, Spoleto, Orvieto and so forth.
The adjacent forests and trails offer an uncontaminated environment while still being relatively close to all services and principle lines of communication and transportation.
Guests reside in a completely restored antique stone country house. The 9 bedrooms, while still maintaining their original flavour are finely decorated and furnished with all necessities; autonomous heating, telephone, and television. All except two bedrooms have their own bathroom facilities.
In the main area, in a rustic and hospitable environment, the guests can relax while enjoying the traditional specialties. The family-run business offers the genuine typical Gubbio cuisine compiled from it’s own production and coltivation. The meals are prepared in the traditional manner in the wood burning oven.
And for those of you with a sweet tooth, we produce our own natural delicious honey. Who knows if by asking the owners for a “secret recipe” you may return home with a sweet souvenir!!!

The beauty of our surroundings is coupled with the conveniently geographic position that allows you to visit the city of Gubbio and to be able to make many interesting excursions. You can reach, with a relatively short trip, the most beautiful and fascinating cities of art in Umbria and the enchanting Lake Trasimeno. Also nearby are the Tuscany cities of Arezzo and Val di Chiana In the eastern region of Marche, you can visit the medieval town of Urbino as well as the many beaches and picturesque towns such, as Fano and Senigallia, on the Adriatic coast.
How to reach us
From Rome
• Take Highway A1 in the direction of Florence (Autostrada A1)
• Take the exit for Orte (approx. 45 mins from Rome)
• At Orte take the (superstrada) E45 Perugia-Cesena in the direction of Cesena
• After passing Perugia, always in the direction of Cesena, take the exit for Bosco
• At Bosco turn left in the direction for Gubbio for about 30 mins
• Before entering Gubbio take a left at the roundabout in direction of Fano. Note: do not enter the town of Gubbio.
• At the end of the roundabout take the exit for Fano (Superstrada Contessa)
• After about 3km turn Right at the Contessa Quarter Horse sign
From Bologna
• Take the A14 in direction of Cesena
• Exit at Cesena Nord for the E45
• Exit the E 45 at Bosco - Gubbio
• At Bosco turn left in the direction for Gubbio for about 30 mins
• Before entering Gubbio take a left at the roundabout in direction of Fano. Note: do not enter the town of Gubbio.
• At the end of the roundabout take the exit for Fano (Superstrada Contessa)
• After about 3km turn Right at the Contessa Quarter Horse sign
From Florence
• Take the A1 in direction of Rome
• Exit at Valdichiana
• Take the Raccordo Perugia - Bettolle to Perugia
• Take the E45 in the direction of Cesena (not Rome)
• Continue in the direction of Cesena and take the exit for Bosco
• At Bosco turn left in the direction for Gubbio for about 30 mins
• Before entering Gubbio take a left at the roundabout in direction of Fano. Note: do not enter the town of Gubbio
