Description Hotel Lago di Piediluco

Hotel Lago di Piediluco sits between a rocky outcrop and luxurious vegetation in panoramic dominion of the ancient borgo of Piediluco and the enchanting lake of the same name, which was finally reopened to swimmers in February of 2008.

The hotel represents a true oasis of tranquility, with its hospitable and refined atmosphere.
Fresh air and air conditioning: in the 30’s the futuristic painter and architect from Terni, Giuseppe Preziosi, was commissioned to create the designs for the Hotel di Lago Piediluco, on the site of a former summer camp that profited from the clean air of the magnificent venues of southern Umbria. The hotel, subsequently modified with the addition of the two upper floors, today has two elevators and, since 2005, also has air conditioning. It has convenient parking available for guests, a small natural park that surrounds it, a bar, convention center, two restaurants, summer solarium and other small conveniences.

Hotel del Lago Piediluco has 44 guest rooms, all with private bath (with shower and hair-dryer), telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning, distinguished by the following three categories: Eco-standard, Classic, and Superior which guarantees a much larger room, a mini-bar and other luxury details and above all guarantees the best frontal views of the lake.

 

From the terraces and also from the better rooms with lake view, a marvelous scene opens to the eyes: mirrored on the water are the works of man. Besides Piediluco, Labro and the Albornoz Fortress are also reflected the uncontaminated works of nature: Montagna dell’Eco and Monte Terminillo, where, from its 2213 meter height, the majestic Tyrrhenian and Adriatic seas can be glimpsed.

RESTAURANT:

The restaurant of the Hotel del Lago Piediluco is able to offer the best of Umbrian gastronomy accompanied by a selection of regional wines.
We are able to offer organized and efficient service to guests who desire the simplicity and elegance of the culinary offerings chosen daily by our chef, who also invites you to enjoy, a la carte, the wonders of “Terrazza Belvedere”. Moreover, we specialize in banquets and galas on the occasion of ceremonies, workshops, seminars, meetings and incentive programs (rif. Meeting).
In late spring and early autumn it is possible to enjoy breakfast a la carte in the dining room of the “Terrazza Belvedere” restaurant. Moreover, in summer, it is possible to dine by candlelight or by the moonlight which is reflected on the waters of the lake.

Hotel Lago Piediluco adheres to the Manifesto della Qualità del Sistema Turistico Locale of the Province of Terni. The hotel has received a formal certificate, addressed to the Director, Ignazio Campoccia, upon whom was also recently conferred the Alloro ADA (Italian Association of Hotel Directors) for professional merit.

Sports Activities:

Piediluco is not a “tourist village” but a place where all of the surrounding natural parks transform the area into an enormous “amusement park” with sporting activities from the relaxing to the extreme: you can fish for freshwater eel in complete tranquility or you can have fun on an organized tree climbing outing and cross tree canopy walkways, you can have an electrifying raft trip on the rapids below Marmore Falls or a more peaceful one, further upstream, on the waters of the Nera, you can follow the Velino river upstream in uncontaminated nature, you can do free-climbing on the rocky outcrops of Ferentillo, go mountain biking guided by a certified instructor, go hydro-speeding, orienteering, cave exploring, trekking, Nordic walking, kayaking or canoeing. Due to a special agreement, our guests may, upon request, use the gym of the Piediluco Rowing Club, in the same area as the famous Centro Tecnico Nazionale della Federazione Italiana Canottaggio named for Paolo D'Aloja. The sports complex, which boasts numerous tennis courts and an Olympic-size swimming pool is only two kilometers from the Hotel  Lago Piediluco.

* Hotel del Lago Piediluco is approximately 4 kilometers from the upper belvedere of Marmore Falls. Going to the upper belvedere by car or by bus allows one to walk downhill along gorgeous pedestrian trails, to the lower belvedere and take advantage of the numerous observation points. In the meantime, the bus descends by the road and picks up whoever does not care to go back uphill on foot, carrying with it whoever does not care to descend on foot (but who will have at least had the chance to enjoy the view from the upper belvedere). Tickets, approximately 5.00 Euros per person, can be purchased at either the upper or lower belvedere.
