The Residence of bhe health (old cottage) of Monte Gualandro dates back to 1700.
The building is surrounded by a 100,000 square meter large park, planted with olive trees, with a magnificent view on Lake Trasimeno and the Chiana Valley. The estate is 100 m far from the border between Umbria and Tuscany, not distant from cities of considerable artistic and religious importance, among which Cortona (8 km), Perugia (30 km.), Arezzo (35 km.), Assisi (50 km.), Orvieto (70 km.), Siena (60 km.), Florence (130 km), Rome (200 km.). The cottage has been completely restored with the utmost respect for its original features: brickwork or stonework flooring, ceilings with exposed beams, original frescoes, fireplaces…
The park has a 14 x 7 m large swimming-pool with a magnificent view on the lake, as well as a sun-terrace and a barbecue.
The cottage is divided into 14 apartments, each made up of a double room, a living room with kitchenette and double divan-bed, a bathroom. All the apartments have a communicating door and can be combined so as to have either 4-bed- or 8-bed-apartments. Furnishings are elegant and refined, with embroidered fabrics, wrought iron tester-beds, Persian carpets; all the apartments are equipped with safe, TV-SAT, telephone, Internet connection, ceiling fans. Some apartments have a small private garden or a terrace.
You will be welcome in our small wellness center with indoor heated swimming-pool, jets for cervical massage, counter-current swimming, sauna, Turkish bath, 6-person Jacuzzi whirlpool Spa, relax room with chromotherapy and aromatherapy facilities, gym; you can also enjoy relaxing massages, Shiatsu, sun shower.
Any time of the year you will find here the ideal place for a relaxing holiday in a quiet and refined environment, being able to join sightseeing in the near-by cities and personal care and “remise en forme” in our wellness center. For golf-lovers, a very good 18-hole-course is not distant from the cottage, while those fond of wind-surf and sailing will find a sport center with ample facilities and a school.

Where we are
Umbria has the luck of being strategically positioned among cities of considerable artistic importance. Within a range of less than 100 km you can find a large number of beautiful cities, rich in art and in history, boasting of Etruscan and Roman remains, fine architectural examples of the Middle Age and the Renaissance, masterpieces of painting and sculpture.
The territory is unbeatably rich in works of art and in thrilling landscapes. Assisi, Spello, Gubbio, Todi, Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Montalcino, the Crete Senesi (Siena clay hills) are only a few examples… Due to its position, Lake Trasimeno lies under the administration of Umbria, but from a cultural viewpoint it is half-Umbrian, half-Tuscan. Suffice it to say that Cortona is less than 10 km distant, Arezzo less than 35 km, Siena 60 km. Travelling on the highway for only 30 km you can reach Perugia, a beautiful city, full of life thanks to its two Universities (one of which devoted to foreign students), with artistic and musical events going on all year long.
The scenery is enchanting: olive-groves all around the lake, old stone olive-presses for the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP, magnificent vineyards that produce the most renowned wines, small towns and castles perched on the hills. The three isles in the lake (Maggiore, Minore and Polvese), each with its special charm, are the ideal destination for unforgettable excursions, as they are rich in natural parks and bird reserves.
